Homestretch Thoroughbred Awards Program (HTAP)

About HTAP

The Homestretch Thoroughbred Awards Program (HTAP) advocates the promotion of Thoroughbred horses in new careers including the hunter and jumper disciplines.

Criteria

Open to Thoroughbreds that meet one of the following criteria:  Jockey Club certificate of registration; a lip tattoo; or a letter from the Jockey Club verifying the horse’s identity.  Riders should be prepared to present proof of registration at the time of entry.

How it works

At registration for each show in the show office, rider pays $5 per show day to nominate one Thoroughbred horse for that day’s HTAP prizes.  All nominated horses showing in HTAP classes will be eligible for cash prizes.  Payout will be 1st-5th.

The HTAP is also sponsoring Red Pine Horse Show Association year-end awards for both hunter and jumper classes.  If you are a 2019 RPHSA member, you will be eligible for these year-end awards.

Hunters- $250 in prizes per show

$250 in prize money for the top five high scores for eligible Thoroughbreds in either of the two classes (1-Modified Hunter; 2-Pre-Children's/Adult Hunter) offered at the 2’3’’ to 2’6” division.  If a rider enters both the Modified and Pre-Childrens/Adult designated classes, rider must clarify which score they want to use before rider enters the class, otherwise the first score will be used.  Prizes will be awarded based on judge’s numerical score in designated class (see prizelist).  In the event of a tie, judge will break the tie.

Payout for highest hunter scores for eligible Thoroughbreds in designated Modified and Pre-Children's/Adult Hunter Classes.
